Baseball Recap: Timber Creek Extends Road Winning Streak to Four

Timber Creek proved they can win big last Friday (they won by eight) and on Monday they proved they can win the close ones too. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the West Orange Warriors, sneaking past 7-5. For the Wolves, this counts as revenge for the 2-1 win the Warriors walked away with the last time they faced one another back in March of 2022.

Hayden Knowlton looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than one earned run any time he's pitched this season.

At the plate, Sebastian Hurtado was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three doubles and two RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Elijah Buffaloe, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and two runs.

Timber Creek's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-2. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for West Orange, their loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 7-3.

Looking ahead, Timber Creek will challenge Apopka at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average, (Timber Creek: 2.3, Apopka: 2.8) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for West Orange, they will face off against Cypress Creek at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. West Orange's pitching crew has only allowed 3.5 runs per game this season, so Cypress Creek's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
