Softball Recap: Wake Forest Extends Road Winning Streak to Seven

While Wake Forest's victory against Heritage wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Cougars' pitcher stepped up to hand the Huskies a 1-0 shutout on Thursday. The Cougars haven't had any issues with the Huskies recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive win against them.

Not much got past Jil Livengood, who gave up just three hits and racked up 14 Ks to keep Heritage off the board. Livengood has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than nine strikeouts in 13 consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Wake Forest saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mia Spahlinger, who went 2-for-3 with one run. That's the most hits Spahlinger has posted since back in April of 2024.

Wake Forest pushed their record up to 13-1 with the victory, which was their seventh straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.6 runs on average over those games. As for Heritage, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-7.
