Basketball Game Preview: Alcoa Tornadoes vs. Booker Tornadoes

The Alcoa Tornadoes will take on the Booker Tornadoes in a tournament on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both will really light up the scoreboard.

Booker is hoping to do what Knoxville Catholic couldn't on Saturday: put an end to Alcoa's winning streak, which now stands at four games. Alcoa enjoyed a cozy 68-49 victory over Knoxville Catholic.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Booker). They took their matchup two weeks ago with ease, bagging an 82-21 win over Winthrop College Prep Academy. With the Tornadoes ahead 49-14 at the half, the game was all but over already.

Booker's win came from a few key players Alcoa will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Brianna Behn, who almost dropped a double-double on 21 points and nine rebounds. Behn is also crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least three every time she's taken the court this season. Yvette Brown was another key player, dropping a double-double on 21 points and 11 rebounds.

Booker was working as a unit and finished the game with 17 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Winthrop College Prep Academy only posted three assists.

Booker pushed their record up to 5-1 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 78.3 points per game. As for Alcoa, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 6-2 record this season.
