Baseball Game Preview: Bakersfield Drillers vs. Highland Scots

For the second straight game, Bakersfield will face off against Highland. Bakersfield will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against Highland at 4:00 p.m.

On Monday, Bakersfield didn't have quite enough to beat Highland and fell 2-1. The Drillers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

For Highland's part, Jeremiah England looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. England has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Highland's victory was truly a team effort as two different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Santiago Blanco, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI.

The win (which was Highland's fifth in a row) raised their record to 9-1. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.6 runs on average over those games. As for Bakersfield, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-8-1.
