Football Recap: Rincon/University Comes Up Short

Rincon/University was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They took a 10-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Rio Rico Hawks. The Rangers lost against the Hawks in their previous head to head back in September of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 33-0 score last time.

Jacob Jackson threw for 205 yards on 15 of 26 attempts.

Rio Rico's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Aldo Santos led the charge by picking up 97 receiving yards and one touchdown. Those 97 receiving yards gave Santos a new career-high.

Rincon/University's loss dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Rio Rico, their victory ended a six-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-8.

As of now, neither Rincon/University nor the Hawks have any future games scheduled.
