Basketball Recap: Tri-Valley Takes a Loss

Tri-Valley lost against Birchwood Christian back in January of 2020 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The match between the Tri-Valley Warriors and the Birchwood Christian Warriors didn't end well, with the Tri-Valley Warriors falling 64-46. The game marked Tri-Valley's lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Despite the loss, Tri-Valley still got an impressive performance from Michael Renshaw, who went 7 for 15 on his way to 18 points and four steals. Renshaw is crushing it when it comes to steals: he's grabbed at least two every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Isaiah Mayo, who posted 11 points and three steals.

This is the second loss in a row for Tri-Valley and nudges their season record down to 5-3. As for Birchwood Christian, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-5.

Tri-Valley will welcome Nenana at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Tri-Valley is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 58.7 points per game this season. As for Birchwood Christian, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 77-46 defeat against Cook Inlet Academy on the 11th.
