Volleyball Recap: Ridgeline Riverhawks vs. Stansbury Stallions

If Ridgeline was feeling good fresh off their 3-0 takedown of West Field last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Ridgeline Riverhawks took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Stansbury Stallions on Friday. While the Riverhawks didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Stallions 25-14 in the first set.

Ridgeline started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 14-25, 25-23, 25-20, 25-21.

Matthew Hanson paced Ridgeline's offense, picking up nine kills. Hanson got some help from Sam McMullen and his 12 assists. Hanson was also solid from the service line: he led the team with four aces.

The defeat was their first at home , dropping their record down to 6-5. As for Stansbury, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-1.

Coming up, Ridgeline will head out to square off against Logan at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Logan will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Ridgeline surely won't give up without a fight. As for Stansbury, they will host Cottonwood at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
