Basketball Recap: Northfield Beats North Miami for Their Third Straight Win

While Northfield didn't have the best season last year (they finished 6-18), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They enjoyed a cozy 69-51 victory over the North Miami Warriors on Tuesday. The win was nothing new for the Norsemen as they're now sitting on three straight.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Northfield to victory, but perhaps none more so than Carter Rodgers, who went 7 for 14 on his way to 21 points and five rebounds. Rodgers' evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Cody Holmes, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 15 rebounds.

Northfield smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've posted since back in January of 2024.

Northfield has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 6-4 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.7 points per game. As for North Miami, they now have a losing record at 4-5.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Northfield will venture away from home to challenge Lewis Cass at 7:45 p.m. on Friday. Northfield has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games. As for North Miami, they will head out to square off against Winamac at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Winamac is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 51.5 points per game this season.
