Softball Recap: 11 Straight Road Wins for Ashwaubenon

Ashwaubenon barely beat Bay Port the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Jaguars blew past the Pirates 7-1 on Thursday. The Jaguars haven't had any issues with the Pirates recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.

Berritt Herr spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on four hits and racked up eight Ks. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up a single earned run any time she's pitched this season.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Kahlee James, who fired off three home runs and five RBI while going 3-for-3. Those three home runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Peyton Crutcher, who went 1-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI.

James wasn't the only one working in the home run department: Ashwaubenon lost a few balls and finished the game with three home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

Ashwaubenon's victory was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-1. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.3 runs over those games. As for Bay Port, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Ashwaubenon will take on West De Pere at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Bay Port, they are packing up and heading out for their first away game of the season: they will face off against Appleton East at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
