Baseball Recap: Glencoe's Luck Changes for the Better on Monday

Glencoe can bid farewell to their nine-game losing streak thanks to their game on Monday. They never let the Liberty Falcons get on the board and left with a 5-0 win. The Crimson Tide were shut out 1-0 the last time they took on the Falcons, so the Crimson Tide were just returning the favor.

Liberty's batters probably weren't too happy with August Ware, who pitched a no hitter and racked up 18 Ks (he gave up two walks). Ware has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Camden Roofener, who went 2-for-3 with two doubles and one run. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Corbin McCabe, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run and one RBI.

Glencoe's victory bumped their record up to 8-13. As for Liberty, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 11 of their last 12 matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-16 record this season.

Glencoe will have a chance to go back-to-back against Liberty: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
