DeSoto extended the longest winning streak in MAIS A District 1 this week by beating Kirk Academy, 28-20. The victory was the seventh in a row for the Thunderbirds.
West Memphis Christian moved up to 165 from 264 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Black Knights were able to move up by topping Tunica Academy 54-18.
West Memphis Christian's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Black Knights feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Trevor Pagan has thrown for 1,495 yards and 15 touchdowns this season, while Keari Brown has 18 catches for 457 yards.
West Memphis Christian led the league in scoring this week after putting up 54 points on the Blue Devils. Pagan threw for 279 yards and 3 touchdowns during the win.
