Basketball Recap: Eastern Takes a Loss

Eastern has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They were three points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 45-42 heartbreaker at the hands of the Western Brown Broncos. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Warriors have suffered since November 27th.

Western Brown's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Peyton Butler, who posted nine points. Madilyn Ruby was another key player, putting up ten points and eight rebounds.

Eastern's defeat dropped their record down to 7-4. As for Western Brown, their win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-4.

Eastern will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Lynchburg-Clay at 6:45 p.m. on January 6, 2025. As for Western Brown, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 46-24 defeat against Fayetteville-Perry on the 28th.
