Baseball Recap: Wyalusing Valley Comes Up Short

Wyalusing Valley extended their losing streak to five on Friday, dropping them down to 3-12. They came up short against the Northeast Bradford Panthers, falling 11-1. The Rams were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Panthers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

As for Northeast Bradford, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-6 record this season. Considering they have won six games by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

For Northeast Bradford's part, Elijah DeLancey was excellent, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. DeLancey is becoming a predictor of the Panthers' success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 5-6 when he doesn't).

Looking ahead, Wyalusing Valley will take on Canton at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Northeast Bradford, they will face off against Lackawanna Trail at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday.
