Softball Game Preview: Forest City Foresters vs. Carbondale Area Chargers

The Forest City Foresters will head out on the road to take on the Carbondale Area Chargers at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Forest City will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.

Forest City came out on top against Mountain View on Thursday thanks in part to the team's impressive seven-run fifth inning. The Foresters walked away with a 12-8 win over the Eagles. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since April 17, 2019, but that streak is no more.

Elk Lake hit Carbondale Area with a eight-run second inning on Wednesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Chargers lost 14-0 to the Warriors. The Chargers haven't had much luck with the Warriors recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

Carbondale Area saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Stephanie Baker, who went 1-for-2 with one triple.

Forest City's victory bumped their record up to 5-7. As for Carbondale Area, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-9.

Forest City beat Carbondale Area 9-5 in their previous matchup back in April. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Foresters since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
