Houston Academy came tearing into Monday's matchup with eight straight wins , and they left with even more momentum. They came within a single set of losing the streak, but they secured a 3-2 W against the Providence Christian Eagles. This was a revenge game for the Raiders: when they faced off against the Eagles back in August, they had to take a 3-1 loss.

The victory didn't come easy: Providence Christian scored at least nine points in every set. The final score came out to 16-25, 25-18, 25-19, 18-25, 15-9.

Houston Academy was led to victory by Louisa Faulk and Ann Davis Sinquefield. Faulk had ten digs and three assists, while Sinquefield had 20 kills and 15 digs. That's the most assists Faulk has posted since back in August.

Houston Academy's record is now 29-8. As for Providence Christian, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 17-10.

Houston Academy and Providence Christian should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Alabama Rankings. The Raiders (ranked 57th) will meet Wicksburg (ranked 214th) at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Providence Christian will challenge Carroll at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday with a big rank advantage (30 vs. 355).
