Baseball Recap: Berlin Victorious

Berlin was handed an eight-run loss in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Tuesday. They skirted past the Nekoosa Papermakers 7-5.

Toby Miller was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched five innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off five hits. Miller was also big at the plate, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs.

Miller wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Mitchell Lundt, who went 1-for-4 with three RBI and one stolen base. Aaron Schliepp was another, getting on base in two of his three plate appearances with two runs.

Berlin now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Nekoosa, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Berlin will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Papermakers: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
