Baseball Recap: Northland Christian Takes a Loss

Northland Christian was the 11-2 winner over Tomball Kings when they last played one another back in April of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Cougars took a 6-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Homeschool on Saturday.

Lucas Herron spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three earned (and three unearned) runs on three hits.

On the hitting side, Cy Taylor made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Alejandro Pena, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Northland Christian has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-6-1 record this season. As for Tomball Kings, they have been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 17-14-1 record this season.

Northland Christian will venture away from home to challenge Rosehill Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Tomball Kings, they will face off against First Baptist Christian at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
