Football Recap: Chapel Hill Comes Up Short + How To Watch

If Chapel Hill was riding high fresh off their 35-2 takedown of Riverside-Durham last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Tigers were beaten by the Southern School of Energy and Sustainability Spartans 49-10 on Thursday. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina football rankings (they are ranked 276th, while the Spartans are ranked 121st).

Samuel Zimmermann threw for 49 yards on six of 15 attempts.

Southern School of Energy and Sustainability's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jonathan Dillon, who threw for 168 yards and four TDs on only 13 passes, and also rushed for 41 yards. Dillon's passing game has become a key predictor of the Spartans' success: the team is undefeated when his passer rating is 100 or higher, but only 1-4 otherwise. Al-John Cephas helped out on the ground, rushing for 87 yards.

Chapel Hill's defeat dropped their record down to 6-4. As for Southern School of Energy and Sustainability, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 6-4.

As of now, neither Chapel Hill nor the Spartans have any future games scheduled.
