Recap: Athens Indians vs. Climax-Scotts Panthers
The Athens Indians's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They suffered a tough 54-33 defeat at the hands of Climax-Scotts. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Athens in their matchups with Climax-Scotts: they've now lost nine in a row.
Several Indians players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Heath Tigges, who scored 4 points along with 7 steals and 6 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Elijah Flynn, who scored 8 points.
Athens' loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Climax-Scotts, the victory got them back to even at 2-2.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Athens will challenge Pittsford at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Climax-Scotts, they will head out on the road to face off against Hillsdale Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Hillsdale Academy presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Climax-Scotts in Michigan (Hillsdale Academy is ranked 82nd, while Climax-Scotts is ranked 265th).
