Baseball Recap: Fox Valley Lutheran's Win Ends Four-Game Losing Streak on the Road

The home team had come away the winner the last six times Fox Valley Lutheran and Marinette had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Foxes had just enough and edged out the Marines 6-4. This was a revenge game for the Foxes: when they faced off against the Marines on Saturday, they had to take a 8-3 defeat.

Luke Heimerl spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three earned (and one unearned) runs on eight hits.

At the plate, Zach Daily was excellent, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Jacob Bickel, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Fox Valley Lutheran's victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 14-9. As for Marinette, their loss dropped their record down to 11-6.

Looking ahead, Fox Valley Lutheran will host New London at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Marinette, they will head out on the road to face off against Freedom at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
