Football Recap: Smoky Hill Takes a Loss

Smoky Hill lost against Denver South back in October of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Buffaloes lost 38-18 to the Ravens. While losing is never fun, the Buffaloes can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado football rankings (they are ranked 60th, while the Ravens are ranked tenth).

This is the second loss in a row for Smoky Hill and nudges their season record down to 1-7. As for Denver South, their win was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 7-1.

Looking ahead, Smoky Hill will take on Eaglecrest at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. This will be the Buffaloes' first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for Denver South, they will challenge Northfield at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Ravens 8.8, the Nighthawks 5.1) so any points scored will be well earned.
