Football Recap: Irion County Starts Season with Defeat on the Road

Irion County kicked off their season on the road on Friday and hit a couple of potholes. They lost 49-26 to the Buena Vista Longhorns. The Hornets have struggled against the Longhorns recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Luke Seahorn threw for 111 yards and a pair of TDs on only six passes. Kyle Olivan was his top target, picking up 111 receiving yards. On the ground, Hagen Turman rushed for 81 yards.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Irion County will face off against Rankin at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Buena Vista, they are packing up and heading out for their first away game of the season: they will face off against Klondike at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
