Basketball Recap: Collins Hill's Luck Changes for the Better on Monday

There's no place like home for Collins Hill, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Wednesday. They walked away with a 53-46 win over the Mill Creek Hawks on Monday. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Eagles' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 212th, while the Hawks are ranked 52nd).

Collins Hill's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kaleigh Heywood, who posted 14 points and six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Sa?Nya Jones, who had eight points in addition to 12 boards and three steals.

Collins Hill moved to 6-11 with that victory, which also ended their six-game losing streak. As for Mill Creek, with the loss, they broke their seven-game winning streak and moved their record to 11-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Collins Hill will head out to take on Discovery at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Discovery is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 56.3 points per game this season. As for Mill Creek, they will take on Central Gwinnett at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
