Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Jackson). They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat the Rutland Hurricanes 44-0. The Red Devils have beaten the Hurricanes the last seven times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Hurricanes has come to flipping the script.

Danarri Brown continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 206 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only 11 carries, while also catching one score. His longest rush was for an incredible 80 yards. Another player making a difference was Canaan Bernhardt, who threw for 139 yards and one TD.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Jackson was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 244 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

Another reason for the win was Jackson's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for three sacks. In that department, Asher Upchurch was the leader with two.

Jackson's victory bumped their record up to 2-4. As for Rutland, their loss dropped their record down to 0-5.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Jackson will take on Pike County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Red Devils will be up against the Pirates' rather soft defense (which has allowed 26.33 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Rutland, they will square off against Morgan County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Hurricanes will need to watch out since the Bulldogs have now posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season.
