Volleyball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Sasha Onwuchekwa and Kolbie Davis Lead Bay City to Victory

Bay City won the last time they faced Wharton and things went their way on Friday too. The Blackcats put the hurt on the Tigers with a sharp 3-0 win.

The match finished with set scores of 25-12, 25-10, 25-17.

Bay City was led to victory by Kolbie Davis and Sasha Onwuchekwa. Davis had 17 kills and 13 digs, while Onwuchekwa had 12 digs, six kills, and six aces. Those six aces gave Onwuchekwa a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Kim Perez, who had 18 digs.

Bay City now has a winning record of 12-11. As for Wharton, they are on a 30-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-13.

Looking ahead, Bay City will face off against Brazosport at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Wharton, they will take on Needville at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Bluejays will roll in looking for their ninth straight victory, something the Tigers surely won't give up without a fight.
