Football Recap: Beauregard Comes Up Short

Beauregard had lost six straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Friday they dropped down to 3-7 to make it seven. They were dealt a 36-8 defeat at the hands of the Russell County Warriors. If the Hornets were looking for revenge after losing 35-23 to the Warriors when the teams met back in November of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Despite the loss, Beauregard still got an impressive performance from Tae Foreman, who rushed for 121 yards and one TD. Foreman's rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 121 rushing yards.

As for Russell County, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-1. The result was nothing new for the Warriors, who have now won six contests by 21 points or more so far this season.

Bryson Riggins had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 70 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only six carries, while also throwing for 110 yards and two TDs. His longest rush was for an impressive 57 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total. Chris Lucas was another key player, rushing for 73 yards and one score on only eight carries.

Beauregard does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Russell County, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Gulf Shores at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
