Recap: Yerington Lions vs. Silver Stage Nighthawks
In what's become a running theme this season, the Yerington Lions gave their fans yet another huge win on Saturday. They blew past Silver Stage, posting a 54-20 win at home. The win was nothing new for Yerington as they're now sitting on four straight.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Yerington to victory, but perhaps none more so than Laney Triplett, who scored 16 points along with five rebounds and four steals. Triplett has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times she's played. Randi Townsend was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 12 points and 12 rebounds.
Yerington is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-7 record this season. As for Silver Stage, their loss was their 14th straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 2-11.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Yerington will take on Oasis Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Oasis Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 21 on Saturday. As for Silver Stage, Silver Stage and Coral Academy of Science - Reno will face off at 6:00 p.m. on January 16th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Hopefully Coral Academy of Science - Reno focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 37 on Saturday.
