Basketball Game Preview: Wellington Dukes vs. Richmond Heights Spartans

The Wellington Dukes will square off against the Richmond Heights Spartans at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Wellington played against Aquinas on Saturday and won via forfeit.

Wellington will be up against a hot Richmond Heights squad: the team just extended their winning streak to six. Richmond Heights simply couldn't be stopped on Saturday as they easily beat Oberlin 57-10. Given the Spartans' advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 214th, while the Phoenix are ranked 682nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Wellington has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-9 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 29.2 points over those games. As for Richmond Heights, their victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-5.
