Baseball Recap: Placer Gets the Win

After losing to Del Campo the last time they met, Placer decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Placer Hillmen narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Del Campo Cougars 3-1.

Gavin Otis spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on four hits and racked up 12 Ks. Those 12 strikeouts gave him a new career-high.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Jack Addison, who scored two runs and stole Two bases. while going 1-for-2. Will Rogers also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

The victory got Placer back to even at 3-3. As for Del Campo, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 1-5-1 record this season.

Placer will have a chance to go back-to-back against Del Campo: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
