Basketball Game Preview: Roosevelt Educational Roughriders vs. Gompers Panthers

The Roosevelt Educational Roughriders will head out to challenge the Gompers Panthers at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Roosevelt Educational will bounce into Saturday's game after beating Lehman, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. Roosevelt Educational took down Lehman 56-40 on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, Gompers can bid farewell to their four-game losing streak thanks to their game on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Dodge Vocational as Gompers made off with a 60-35 win. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory Gompers has posted since December 5, 2024.

Gompers' win bumped their record up to 5-7. As for Roosevelt Educational, their victory bumped their record up to 7-5.

Roosevelt Educational strolled past Gompers in their previous meeting back in December of 2024 by a score of 69-51. The rematch might be a little tougher for Roosevelt Educational since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
