Baseball Recap: Highlands Ranch's Victory on Monday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Highlands Ranch waltzed into their matchup on Monday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came out on top against the Legend Titans by a score of 7-2. This was payback for the Falcons, who suffered a 10-0 loss the last time these two teams met.

Noah Mortenson spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on four hits and racked up eight Ks. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Highlands Ranch is 2-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 4-5 otherwise.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Josh Dave, who scored a run while going 3-for-5. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March. Cody Dane was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

The victory got Highlands Ranch back to even at 6-6. As for Legend, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-8 record this season.

Coincidentally, Highlands Ranch and Legend will both be playing Regis Jesuit the next time they take the field. The Falcons will host the Raiders at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Titans will head out to face them at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday.
