Janeson Steele made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. That's the fewest hits he has allowed since back in April of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-3. He has become a key player for C.B. Aycock: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 1-5 otherwise.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Caden Cox, who scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Landon Davis, who went 2-for-4 with four RBI.

C.B. Aycock kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Fike only managed four hits.

West Johnston's record is now 8-3. As for C.B. Aycock, their record is now 3-6.

West Johnston took their win against C.B. Aycock in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 9-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for West Johnston since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
