Preview: Eustace Bulldogs vs. Rice Bulldogs
Eustace is 7-0 against Rice since March of 2015, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Eustace Bulldogs will be playing in front of their home fans against the Rice Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. Eustace will be strutting in after a win while Rice will be coming in after a defeat.
Last Friday, everything went Eustace's way against Kemp as Eustace made off with a 14-4 victory. The win was just what Eustace needed coming off of an 18-5 loss in their prior match.
Madilyn Andrews was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She struck out seven batters over six innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits (and only one walk). Andrews was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two runs, a triple, and a stolen base.
In other batting news, Sadie jo Long was incredible, going 3-for-5 with three runs, four RBI, and a triple. She is trending in the right direction, as she's improved her point production for three games straight. Another player making a difference was Page Miller, who scored four runs while going 4-for-4.
Meanwhile, after soaring to ten runs the game before, Rice were a bit more limited in their contest on Tuesday. Their tough 11-1 defeat to Blooming Grove might stick with them for a while.
Rice saw one different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was W Wharton, who went 1-for-2 with a stolen base and an RBI.
Eustace's victory bumped their record up to 7-15-1. As for Rice, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season.
