Softball Recap: Goldsboro Cougars vs. Princeton Bulldogs        
        
		
            
 Goldsboro lost against Princeton last Tuesday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result  on Wednesday. The Goldsboro Cougars fell victim to a  tough 14-4 loss at the hands of the Princeton Bulldogs. Goldsboro has not had much luck with Princeton recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.
 For Princeton's part,  Mary Rachel Uzzell and  Graci Martin were a major factor no matter where they played. Throwing,  Uzzell   pitched two innings while giving up   no  earned runs off   three  hits. Meanwhile,  Martin   struck out seven batters over  four innings while giving up just one earned  (and three unearned) runs off   four  hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't  given up  more than two  walks in six consecutive pitching appearances. At bat,  Uzzell  went 2-for-4 with two  runs, a  triple,  and  an  RBI, while  Martin  scored two  runs while going 2-for-4.
 In other batting news, Princeton got a big performance out of  Kaydon Roberson, who  scored two  runs while  getting on base  in three of her five plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of  Alyvia Bleigh, who  scored two  runs while  getting on base  in three of her four plate appearances.
 Goldsboro's defeat dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Princeton, their win  ended  a  three-game drought at home  and  bumped them up to 4-9.
 Both  teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Goldsboro will  take on North Johnston at 6:30  p.m.  on Thursday. North Johnston is strutting in with some hitting muscle, as they've averaged 7.5  runs per game  this season. As for Princeton, they will head out on the road to  face off against  Spring Creek at 7:00  p.m.  on Thursday.
