Basketball Recap: Newport Harbor Triumphs

Newport Harbor hadn't done well against Edison recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Newport Harbor Sailors sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 60-57 win over the Edison Chargers. This was a revenge game for the Sailors: when they faced off against the Chargers on January 8th, they had to take a 52-48 loss.

Newport Harbor's victory bumped their record up to 17-10. As for Edison, they dropped their record down to 16-10 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Corona del Mar the next time they take the court. Edison will head out to face Corona del Mar at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, while Newport Harbor will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
