Alabama and Clemson put together one of the best games to decide a national college football championship ever on Monday night. Judging from the 2016 recruiting classes for each program, which won't be official until Feb. 3, don't expect much drop-off next season.
Perhaps a rematch of the national championship game — a 45-40 Alabama victory — is in order.
According to
247Sports, as of Monday, Alabama has the eight-best 2016 recruiting class and Clemson No. 11. Expect each school to move up, too.
Of Alabama's 16 high school recruits, three each are defensive tackles and offensive linemen. The Tide scored two players each at wide receiver, tight end and overall athletes and one each at running back, quarterback, linebacker and defensive back.
Of Clemson's 15 recruits, four are wide receivers, three each are linebackers and offensive linemen, two are defensive tackles and one each are running back, quarterback and defensive back.
Alabama sports six top 150 recruits thus far and Clemson has five.
