Volleyball Game Preview: Phillipsburg Panthers vs. Great Bend Panthers

Phillipsburg are taking a road trip to square off against Great Bend at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

The home team had won the previous two meetings between Phillipsburg and Trego, and Phillipsburg kept the tradition alive. The Panthers walked away with a 2-0 win over the Golden Eagles on Saturday.

While Phillipsburg won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the first set they played. The match finished with set scores of 27-25, 25-17.

Meanwhile, Great Bend came tearing into Thursday's matchup with nine straight wins , and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against the Trojans by a score of 2-0.

Great Bend not only won, but also showed off some consistency: they kept Hillsboro to exactly 18 points across their sets. The final score came out to 25-18, 25-18.

Phillipsburg's record is now 13-18. As for Great Bend, their record now sits at 19-9.

Phillipsburg couldn't quite get it done against Great Bend in their previous meeting back in October of 2024 as they fell 2-0. Can Phillipsburg avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
