Football Game Preview: West Craven Eagles vs. Eastern Wayne Warriors + Official Tickets

Two dominant signal callers in DJ Davis and Izeiah Oates are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The West Craven Eagles will square off against the Eastern Wayne Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Eastern Wayne will be up against a hot West Craven squad: the team just extended their winning streak to six. The Eagles blew past SouthWest Edgecombe 44-19 on Friday.

Xavier Cuthbertson had another great game (as he tends to do), picking up 74 receiving yards and two TDs, while also rushing for 45 yards. That's the most receiving touchdowns he has posted since back in November of 2024.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: West Craven was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 300 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, Eastern Wayne was fully in charge on Friday, breezing past Washington 49-6.

This one was won in the trenches and the lion's share of the credit has to go to Tykel Battle and Cincere Battle. Tykel rushed for 98 yards and one touchdown on only six carries while Cincere rushed for 63 yards and a pair of scores on only six carries. Tykel didn't just play on offense: he also picked up a sack and made four total tackles.

On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Eastern Wayne's defense and their five sacks. Leading the way was Caleb Jordan with two. Eastern Wayne is undefeated when Jordan posts one or more sacks, but 1-2 otherwise.

West Craven's record is now 8-1. As for Eastern Wayne, their record now sits at 6-2.
