Basketball Game Preview: Hardaway Hawks vs. Kendrick Cherokees

The Hardaway Hawks will square off against the Kendrick Cherokees at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Hardaway has seven straight wins, Kendrick has 22 straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

Last Tuesday, Hardaway made easy work of Sumter County and carried off a 64-41 victory. The Hawks have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 12 games by 23 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Kendrick scored the most points they've had this season on Tuesday, but it wasn't enough. They lost 50-29 to Shaw. The Cherokees were down 45-22 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Hardaway pushed their record up to 17-6 with the win, which was their 19th straight at home dating back to last season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 38.5 points. As for Kendrick, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-20.

Everything came up roses for Hardaway against Kendrick in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, as the team secured a 70-10 victory. In that match, Hardaway amassed a halftime lead of 64-4, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Thursday.
