Football Recap: Horn Lake Has No Trouble Against Olive Branch

Horn Lake barely beat Olive Branch the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Eagles put the hurt on the Conquistadors with a sharp 32-8 victory on Friday. The Eagles pushed the score to 25-0 by the end of the third, a deficit the Conquistadors cut but never quite recovered from.

Jason Edwards Jr went supernova, throwing for 184 yards and three TDs on only ten passes, while also rushing for 44 yards. 82 of Edwards Jr's passing yards were hauled in by Jakevious Brooks, who also brought in a receiving touchdown.

Horn Lake's run defense was locked in: Olive Branch could only muster 2.5 yards per carry. While two picked up at least eight total tackles, Linkin Sanders stood above the rest. He picked up a sack and made eight total tackles (6.0 for loss). Horn Lake didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 5.5.

Horn Lake's defense also made the game a nightmare for Kylen Reed., racking up seven sacks. Olive Branch's QB won't forget Reggie Fairley anytime soon given he sacked him twice. Horn Lake got some further help from Sanders: he picked up a sack and made eight total tackles (6.0 for loss).

Horn Lake now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Olive Branch, their loss dropped their record down to 1-2.

Horn Lake wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 19-14 win against Lake Cormorant on the 19th. As for Olive Branch, they have also already played their next contest, a 48-21 defeat against Kosciusko on the 19th.
