Paige Ells spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and three unearned) runs on nine hits and racked up ten Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than ten strikeouts any time she's pitched this season.
At the plate, Brianna Hatch was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-4. Another player making a difference was Olivia King, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.
Addison never got on the board in their matchup on Monday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Canisteo-Greenwood on Wednesday. They put the hurt on the Chargers with a sharp 18-10 win. The Knights' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
Isabella Seiger made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing seven innings while giving up four earned (and six unearned) runs off seven hits. Seiger was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 3-for-4. Those hits marked the first that she got this season.
In other batting news, Brooklynn Seiger was incredible, going 3-for-5 with three stolen bases, four runs, and four RBI. Hadleigh Watson was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.
The victory got Addison back to even at 2-2. As for Watkins Glen/Odessa-Montour, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Thursday as neither team is afraid to steal. Watkins Glen/Odessa-Montour has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Addison struggles in that department as they've been averaging 6.5 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
