Softball Recap: Issaquah Takes Down Ranked Bothell

Issaquah faced Bothell in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Monday. The Eagles never let the Cougars get on the board and left with a 4-0 victory. The win continues a trend for the Eagles in their matchups with the Cougars: they've now won six in a row.

Shaelyn Erickson (2027) was a major factor no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out eight over seven innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 16 consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, firing off two home runs and three RBI while going 2-for-3. Those two home runs gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Riley Baumann (2026) was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run.

Issaquah's victory bumped their record up to 17-5. As for Bothell, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 16-7 record this season.

Issaquah has already played their next game, a 6-4 win against Kamiak on the 13th. Bothell does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
