Softball Recap: Columbus Cardinals vs. Cotulla Cowboys

Columbus had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They put the hurt on the Cotulla Cowboys with a sharp 10-4 victory on Friday. Columbus might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team's won 14 matchups by six runs or more this season.

For Cotulla's part, Sareen Ramirez was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two runs and a triple. The team also got some help courtesy of Eloyandra Zertuche, who scored two runs while going 1-for-3.

Columbus has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 15 of their last 16 games, which provided a nice bump to their 20-7 record this season. As for Cotulla, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 15-17.

Columbus will be staying on the road on Saturday to face off against Jourdanton. Jourdanton will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something Columbus surely won't give up without a fight. Cotulla does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
