5-star linebacker Ben Davis chooses Alabama on National Signing Day

Gordo (Ala.) linebacker makes his much-anticipated pick, choosing to stay close to home.

Ben Davis, a second-team MaxPreps All-American, is the No. 10 recruit overall in the country according to 247Sports, and he's headed for Alabama.

The 6-foot-3, 240-pound senior linebacker absolutely wreaked havoc for Gordo (Ala.) while racking up 105 tackles and recording three sacks. In the Mississippi-Alabama All-Star Classic, he was voted MVP.

With offers littered throughout the country, including Georgia, Auburn, LSU and Notre Dame, Davis did what most figured he would do: Choose the Crimson Tide.



According to 247Sports, Davis visited Notre Dame Jan. 15, Alabama on Jan. 22 and Auburn on Jan. 29. Of the 35 Crystal Ball predictions by 247Sports, all 35 picked him to go to Alabama.
