Basketball Recap: Jakobe Bruton's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Leto over Springstead

Leto was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. The match between them and the Springstead Eagles didn't end well, with the Leto Falcons falling 46-32. While the Falcons didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Eagles 13-9 in the first quarter.

Leto's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jakobe Bruton, who posted six points along with five boards and five steals. The dominant performance gave Bruton a new career-high in steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Damian Gobea, who had five points and 12 rebounds.

Springstead got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Zion McKenzie out in front who put up ten points and five steals. McKenzie has been hot recently, having posted three or more steals the last four times he's played. Ryan Sayre was another key player, putting up six points along with seven rebounds and four steals.

Leto's defeat dropped their record down to 1-11. As for Springstead, the win got them back to even at 6-6.

Leto didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 70-52 victory against Largo on the 3rd. As for Springstead, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 64-47 win against Mitchell on the 3rd.
