Soccer Recap: Surry County Comes Up Short

Surry County lost against Galileo back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Cougars fell just short of the Falcons by a score of 2-1. Surry County's loss continues a trend for the squad, making it four in a row.

Their goal came courtesy of Vincent Kubler, which was the first he's scored this season.

Surry County's defeat dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Galileo, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-5-1.

Surry County and Galileo will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next contests. The next time the Cougars see the pitch they'll take on Franklin at 4:30 p.m. on the 22nd. As for Galileo, their break will end when they face Nelson County at 5:30 p.m. on the 23rd.
