Baseball Recap: Pewitt Gets the Win

Pewitt owes their pitching crew a big pat on the back after their performance on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Maud Cardinals 1-0. This was a revenge game for the Brahmas: when they faced off against the Cardinals on Tuesday, they had to take a 7-2 defeat.

Dalton Hicks made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 15 over seven innings pitched. He is becoming a predictor of Pewitt's success: when he posts at least ten strikeouts the team is undefeated (and 3-10 when he doesn't). Hicks was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Hicks wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Madden Green, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base.

Pewitt's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-10. As for Maud, their loss dropped their record down to 6-5.
