Softball Recap: Wednesday's Victory Is Oyster River's Tenth in Last 12 Outings

Oyster River won the last time they faced Pelham and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Bobcats put the hurt on the Pythons with a sharp 13-2 win. The Bobcats might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine contests by nine runs or more this season.

Sammy Bishop spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on three hits and racked up ten Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in ten consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Kate Michaud, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, four runs, and three RBI. Meagan Rinko was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.

Oyster River hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least four batters in eight consecutive games.

Oyster River is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 12 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-3-1 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.2 runs on average over those games. As for Pelham, with the loss, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 5-10.
