Basketball Recap: Jace Velasquez and Levi Williams Secure Win for Colorado Springs Christian

Colorado Springs Christian lost to Lamar back in December of 2023, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Tuesday. The Colorado Springs Christian Lions managed a 48-44 victory over the Lamar Thunder. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Lions.

Leading Colorado Springs Christian to victory were Levi Williams and Jace Velasquez. Williams to rack up 14 points and six boards, while Velasquez posted 13 points and seven rebounds. Velasquez is also on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 50% in the last four games he's played. Maximiliano Cota-Cordova was another key player, putting up eight points.

Several Thunder players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Gabrian Jacobs, who almost dropped a double-double with 11 points and nine rebounds. Another player making a difference was Jacob Dunning, who put up 14 points.

Colorado Springs Christian pushed their record up to 11-10 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.0 points over those games. As for Lamar, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 15-6.

As of now, neither Colorado Springs Christian nor Lamar have any future games scheduled.
