Recap: Spring Creek Spartans vs. Yerington Lions
The Spring Creek Spartans had to kick off their season on the road on Thursday, but they showed no ill effects. They escaped with a win against Yerington by the margin of a single free throw, 29-28.
Spring Creek can attribute much of their success to Brianna Dimick, who scored 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ashlynn Sorenson, who scored 7 points.
Spring Creek's win bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Yerington, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-1.
Spring Creek will head out on the road to face off against McQueen at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Nevada (McQueen is ranked 53rd, while Spring Creek is ranked 67th). As for Yerington, they will face off against Elko at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Elko focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 19 on Thursday.
